I believe that by offering a holistic approach to estate planning, we can keep families out of court and conflicts, providing peace of mind for generations to come.

I assist individuals in navigating difficult discussions and offering empathetic guidance during the most challenging moments in their lives, particularly when dealing with the passing of a beloved family member.

You can never plan too early, but you can plan too late.

Procrastination is a major reason families do not have an estate plan. There is no crystal ball and we never know when it will be our last day. Putting off creating an estate plan for your death or incapacitation can leave your family with a mess.  Families without an estate plan are not only grieving, but grappling with how to pay for funeral expenses, searching for important paperwork, and making decisions on what to do with belongings.

If you have children, the most important task your family is left with is deciding who will care  for your children. Without a plan in place to guide your family, it can lead to family conflict that can tear a family apart.

Talking about death is not easy and planning for your own death can feel overwhelming. However, the earlier you begin preparing, the easier it will be for your loved ones especially if you die unexpectedly or become incapacitated. Without a plan in place, state law and probate courts will determine what happens to your property.

Reasons to Create an Estate Plan

  • Do you have a guardian appointed to care for your children if something should happen to you?

  • Do you have plan to protect the money you want to pass on and ensure it is available for the benefit of your children and not used for frivolous expenses?

  • Have you made plans on who would care for your pet if you were unable to continue providing its care?

  • Have you chosen a trusted individual to make medical decisions for you and control your money and how it is spent if you were in an accident and unable to speak for yourself?

  • Have you provided a safe way for a family member to inherit money if they are struggling with a substance abuse disorder?

  • Have you made plans for your child with special needs to ensure your child does not lose government benefits like health insurance because they received a lump sum from your life insurance?

These are just a few scenarios that Murillo Law Firm can assist you with.  Let me help you create an estate plan tailored to your family’s needs.
